Mr Douglas Foo re-elected as SMF President for the Third Term

11 September 2018 – Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 11 September 2018. During the AGM, Mr. Douglas Foo was re-elected as the President of SMF for the next two-year term. This is the second time he was re-elected and he will serve the new term from 2018 to 2020. Mr. Foo is the Founder and Chairman of Sakae Holdings Ltd.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to be re-elected to lead SMF for the third term. Together with my newly elected Council that is made up of thought leaders and champions of the industry, I am confident we will be able to lead the manufacturing industry in Singapore through the disruptive and volatile market.” Said Mr. Foo. “With the strategy of the Committee on Future Economy (CFE) to have Singapore’s manufacturing sector contribute at least 20% of GDP, SMF as the voice for Singapore manufacturing, will steer the sector toward this goal.”

Mr. Foo also shared how SMF has spearheaded a series of conversations on the Future of Manufacturing in Singapore and his plans to work closely with the government to see to the fruition of the initiatives that will lead the industry into the Industry 4.0. He looks forward to serving the members and to hear from each and every one of them their feedback, ideas, and thoughts.
