Lien Development Conference

The Secretary-General of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), Mr. Lawrence Pek, was one of four panellists at the 2022 Lien Development Conference. The conference, themed "The Dynamics of Governance in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world". Lawrence and other panelists delve into key topics affecting the manufacturing industry in Singapore and the region.

Through this panel discussion to engage leaders from different domains and sectors to discuss about Singapore’s trade and investment policies, and ‘global talent strategy as a national policy priority’ could contribute to its resilience and recovery during the global turmoil.

One of the main discussions was on post-COVID ASEAN, where Lawrence shared his insights on the challenges and opportunities for the manufacturing sector in the region. The panel also discussed the centrality of ASEAN and the role of Singapore in the region and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

The SMF appreciates the opportunity provided by the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration of Nanyang Technological University Singapore, to be part of this important discussion.
